Important Information
Base
All base work is the responsibility of the customer, as is the safe securing of buildings once installed. The base needs to be firm, level and square to ensure timber stability.
If required, we are able to arrange base laying works. Please ask for details.
Timber
Timber is an organic product subject to naturally occurring changes caused by various environmental conditions. These changes can result in small movements within the structure that may at times result in small leaks. We would recommend a silicone filler/sealant if required, in a shade to match your building's finish.
Floors
To prevent rotting, floor joists must remain open, allowing air circulation below the floor.
Treatment
All sections of the building are factory treated with a water-based preservative prior to delivery. To maintain the appearance and quality of your building, we recommend a top coat finish to be applied within one month of delivery and re-treatment annually thereafter. Should you wish, we can apply this for a small additional charge. See price list for details.
Hardware
Either black japanned, galvanised or antique finish hardware is fitted according to model. All ironmongery should be lubricated on a regular basis with an appropriate oil. To adjust doors and windows, simply unscrew hinges and realign as necessary.
Glazing
3mm horticultural glass is fitted in all buildings. Windows can be cleaned using ordinary window cleaning products.
